James lives in Coon Rapids with his wife Laura and their three children. As the Director of Finance & Administration at the National Sports Center (NSC) in Blaine, he oversees financial management and human resources, but on a day-to-day basis, he deals with more than numbers. James’ role is also building relationships and providing resources to aid company growth while also cultivating teamwork and self-development. For example, identifying future partnerships that will drive the NSC mission, but also fit the culture and mission of the organization.
Volunteer is another title James proudly wears. For six years he was a Big Brother as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities. As a high energy father of three young children, he also coaches football, basketball, and soccer. Other organizations that he gives his time and support to are Feed My Starving Children, Second Harvest Heartland, Children’s Minnesota, and the Down Syndrom Association of Minnesota.
With the support of the Connexus community James hopes to be a Connexus Energy board member. He will bring a strong financial background that would help to ensure Connexus is fiscally responsible. He is forward-looking. He wants to provide transparency in co-op decision-making and listen to co-op members’ ideas and concerns. He will continue to educate himself about the company, emerging technologies and how to best serve Connexus members. And, he’s willing to challenge the status quo to serve members better and to maximize this community asset so all in the Connexus community can have a high quality of life with affordable, reliable, and renewable electricity. Connexus, Minnesota largest electric co-op with 130,000+ members, should lead in innovation, efficiency, and reliability.
